In the last couple of weeks I've been doing some commercial work, including soundtracking a radio advertisement for London Zoo. Here are clips from some of the different versions I submitted to the client:
Andy and I have also been tinkering with the idea of applying our songwriting skills to more radio-friendly material. So far, we have one composition that is in the very early demos stages. I hope to retool the arrangement so that it sounds more 'current'.
You would think that this kind of mainstream work would be a chore. Surprisingly, it's not: it just entails working to a different type of brief and adapting the knowledge I have already to new practices. Quite refreshing.
